A 29-year-old woman in Russia is now officially the
country’s youngest grandma.
The woman, Natalia Knyazkova, had her own daughter when she
was 14 years old, and her daughter gave birth to a baby boy at the same age.
"History has repeated itself; she has followed my
footsteps,” the grandma told Central European News. “We are also very happy to
finally have a boy [in the family], as I have four daughters."
The head of the obstetrics department of the hospital where
the little boy was born expressed that Knyazkova’s daughter has a world of
responsibility at a very young age.
“I think 14 is a really early age to give birth, especially
due to the fact the girl’s body is still not fully formed,” said Lyudmila
Rodnikova.
The family lives in Bor, located in western Russia.
Last year, a 12-year-old girl and 13-year-old boy became
Britain's youngest parents. They reportedly had been in a longterm
relationship, and the grandparents were "incredibly supportive,"
according to The Sun.
The couple conceived when the then-elementary schoolgirl was
11 years old, according to the report. The girl's parents didn't realize she
had been pregnant.
