A bride who is mad about baking spent days creating two perfect wedding cakes in the shape of herself and her groom.
It took three days for Lara Mason, 29,
to bake and ice the incredible life-sized designs, that she unveiled after her
wedding to Nikki (corr) Mason.
Lara’s cake doppelganger shows her
wearing a white wedding dress, complete with veil and holding a cocktail glass,
while her husband was kitted out with a ‘marriage survival kit’ hat that
included two cans of beer and straws leading up to his mouth.
The couple tied the know in Malta last
month but she unveiled the entirely edible creations at a family party in Great
Wyrley, Staffs, last week.
She revealed: “It took me around 20
hours to create where usually I would spend about 150 hours on a cake of that
size so it was a little rushed.
"After having the competition and
making Prince George the week before I only had three days to make this one.
"Everyone loved it though, my
hubby was especially proud that I got it done in the short time scale.”
Lara, who runs runs Tasty Cakes in
Walsall, West Mids., added: “Everyone loved the cake.
“It was quirky and original, just like us really.”
Lara recently picked up a Gold Award at
the Cake International Show in Birmingham for her 3ft-high cake creation of
Prince George.
She has previously created a miniature
Duchess of Cambridge, a bust of Harry Potter, an edible Land Rover and a Tyrion
Lannister from Game of Thrones.
She is now considering making life-size
cakes of David Beckham and Hollywood actor Channing Tatum after being inundated
with requests to make them.
