A Marriage That Will Last -3 (Seek Ways To Grow)

The commitment of couples to growing and developing their relationship greatly enhances and contributes to what makes a relationship.

It is wonderful if a husband and wife both enjoy the same sports, entertainment and hobbies, but it unusual to have all the same interests.

Usually our interests vary and the wonderful thing about uniting in marriage is we can grow and develop as we learn more about the things that interest our spouse.

You may like Chelsea or Arsenal and your spouse hate football. You may just have to shift a little and be the one to remind him/her of the game schedule. We may not want to become the next pro-golfer, but if that is our spouses favorite sport, we should a least learn the basics of the game.

If our spouse loves live theatre and it doesn't interest us.  Then we may need a wider exposure to the different types of theatre that is available. If we check out a variety of options we may discover that we like some forms of theatre.  However, even if it's not our favorite thing to do, we should go occasionally and have some fun.

It's also important to develop new interests as a couple.  Perhaps it is dance lessons, gardening, chef school, or learning a musical instrument.  It's important to find ways to grow together as well.
