Emotional affairs occur primarily
via the Internet and phone, especially cell phones. If you find your spouse
hanging up suddenly when you enter the room or erasing the history on the cell
phone and becoming defensive when asked about it, then you might want to add
this behavior to your list of suspicions.
Below are
behaviors to be aware of:
- Your spouse turns off his/her
cell phone when in your presence.
- Your spouse leaves the room to
take cell phone calls.
- Your spouse becomes upset if
you answer his/her cell phone.
- Your spouse becomes defensive
if you ask him/her about the above behaviors.
Most spouses engaged in an affair
see their mobile phone as a necessary part of keeping the affair going. It
allows them to keep in touch with the strange man or woman at virtually all
times.
They can talk to their lover while
driving to work, at work, driving home in the evenings. They can talk to them
while shopping, pumping gas or taking a walk. Thanks to the mobile phone;
cheaters are now able to connect more deeply, more quickly.
What can you do if you become
suspicious of your spouses cell phone use?
- Check the cell phone history
for incoming and outgoing calls.
- Check the cell phone for
incoming and outgoing text messages.
- Check the contacts list for any
names you are not familiar with.
- Check the recent calls, missed
calls and dialed calls for suspicious numbers.
- Check the cell phone bill for
any unusual usage.
- Insist that the cell phone bill
be in your name and your spouse’s name. Doing this gives you the right to
request a copy of the cell phone bill should you become suspicious.
